Blue Apron: A Twentysomething's Dream
I really enjoy cooking – most of the time anyway. I like trying new recipes, and eating something fresh that I’ve prepared makes me feel good about myself. Personally though, I find no joy from going grocery shopping. It’s boring and I usually buy random things I don’t need. In addition to that I get super ambitious about the elaborate meals I will make only to have ingredients go to waste because I get lazy and eat a lean cuisine instead. Even if I conquer the laziness then I just end up with so many leftovers that I’m eating the same meal for 4 days in a row. Cooking for one is hard. Enter Blue Apron. They’ve solved each thing I just complained about. No grocery shopping, no wasted ingredients, no random $8.00 spices I’ll only use once. And not to perpetuate the “lazy millennial” stereotype, but all I have to do is walk to the door, bring a box in, and throw everything in the fridge.
For the past few months my boyfriend and I have been cooking blue apron meals. We love it. It’s so fun to cook together and end up with a delicious meal. Each dish is different and unique. Frequently the recipes are ones I would never try myself because they stray out of my comfort zone or they contain ingredients that I couldn’t easily find.
Although this sounds like an ad for Blue Apron (I wish they were paying me to say this) I’m not necessarily endorsing the company, but I am endorsing the idea of creating something with another person. Plus the food tastes better when you’ve put effort into. So grab a friend, your mom, roommate, spouse, cat (whoever's available) and create a little fun together.

Hill
I’m usually too busy devouring whatever we just made to take a picture but below are a few instances where I exhibited self-control:
